THE NSR GAME PLAN:
OUR PROVEN “SUCCESS STEPS”
 
The NSR Game Plan is proven to work. We want you to succeed and if you follow our  plan, you will get positive results. Our experience in contacting and working with college coaches since 1980 has taught us what they need to properly evaluate you as a prospect. Nothing is left to chance. From sending brochures, monthly emails, video links, matching you academically and other complementary promotional efforts, we cover all the bases. But, we need your continued help for our process to have the optimum impact possible. 
 
You only have this one chance to be recruited. It will not come along again. Make the most of it by following the NSR Game Plan which describes in detail how to optimize your NSR experience. The following steps should occur after your proof has been approved and your information is live.

STEP ONE: COLLEGE PREFERENCE LIST
ANNUALLY: PLATINUM (100); ELITE (50)
 
NSR will send your color four page brochure to the coaches of your choice. This will go out along with no other athletes and with a cover letter from either NSR or you. You may attach a letter to your list and return to NSR.
 
Click on the “My Forms” tab in your portal. Select the appropriate College Preference List, according to your contract.  The College Preference form is in PDF format which allows you to print at home, fill out by hand and submit to NSR by mail, email or fax. List the state and the college (be campus specific, i.e. AuburnUniversity / AuburnUniversity at Montgomery) that you would like your brochure sent. Keep a copy of this form so that you can compare it with the college coaches who respond. Next year, if you are an underclassman, you can eliminate and add other colleges based on the results of this year’s mailing.
 
Remember this is an annual service and you will need to send a new list in to NSR each year. You can use “My Tracker” to see when you list of schools was sent and when a new list is due.
 
 

 
 

STEP TWO: REGIONAL COLLEGE SEARCH
ANNUALLY: PLATINUM (2 per YEAR); ELITE (1 per YEAR)
 
The Regional College Search is a very effective method for matching you in various, key ways to colleges in selected regions. This is an email that is sent out on your behalf to college coaches who meet the criteria you list. This email appears as if it is coming directly from you and as coaches respond, that response goes directly to your email.
 
We will use your “Personal Message” that you have on your website to address the coaches, so make sure your message reflects a positive image of yourself.
 
Click on the “My Forms” page of your portal. Select the Regional College Search and complete the form. Mail, email or fax the form to NSR.      
 
Remember this is an annual service and you will need to send a new search in to NSR each year. You can use “My Tracker” to see when your list of schools was sent and when a new search is due.

 
 

STEP THREE: SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH FORM
ALL PROGRAMS (ONE TIME ONLY)
 
You may qualify for any number of additional scholarships which do not pertain to the college you eventually attend. We recommend that you start this process now, immediately following your NSR enrollment, but no later than your junior year in high school. 
 
Upon submitting this form to NSR, our staff will do an extensive search which could identify specific scholarships which you might qualify to receive. 
 
Click on the “My Forms” tab in your portal. Select the Scholarship Search Form. Print this form. Study it carefully and fill it out to the best of your knowledge. Then, mail, email or fax it to NSR. Your personalized search will begin immediately.
 
NSR will then send you a list of the scholarships which you may be eligible to apply for along with the contact information for these opportunities via your NSR email. Take the time necessary to work on applying for them.   You may receive some outstanding awards to help defray college expenses.
 
 
 
STEP FOUR: SPORTS CAMP RECOMMENDATION
TIME SENSITIVE: ALL PROGRAMS
 
Anytime you plan to attend a camp on a college campus, let us know by filling out this form.   Once we receive your form, we will send your NSR video footage to the coach or camp director. This is often very helpful to you and to the camp’s instructors. We have found that the coaches consistently watch these tapes prior to a prospect’s arrival. 
 
Submit this form no later than three weeks prior to the camp’s opening date. Click on “My Forms” tab in your portal. Select the Sports Camp Recommendation form, fill it out and mail, email or fax it to NSR. It can be a team or individual camp. Please be sure to provide the name and email address of the coach or camp director. 
 
You may utilize this service as many times as needed.

 
 

 
STEP FIVE: VIDEO IDENTIFICATION FORM
PLATINUM (TWICE YEARLY); ELITE (ONCE YEARLY)
 
All footage, tapes or DVDs, must be accompanied by a “Video Identification Form.” We are constantly receiving footage from NSR prospects from around the world, so it is critical to fill out the form properly. This form allows our editors to quickly identify your footage as it goes through the editing and delivery process.
 
Click on “My Forms” in your portal. Select the appropriate Video Identification Form for your contract (Elite, Platinum). At the top of the form, you will find instructions from our editors. It is important for you to follow these in detail. Pay attention to each blank line provided. Fill each out clearly. In doing so, you will insure that NSR editors will give you the professional product you desire and deserve. 
 
NOTE: DO NOT EDIT FOOTAGE before submitting your tape or DVD to NSR. Our team of professional editors needs raw footage to do their best work. While your intentions may be good, our editors are trained and experienced in choosing the best footage for you. 
 
Send this form with any tapes, DVD’s, etc. All original tapes, DVD’s, etc will be mailed back to you after editing is done. It is our suggestion for you to mail all original DVD’s, tapes etc. by courier service or a track-able method, to make sure they are not lost in transit.
 
 
 
 
 STEP SIX: VIDEO PREFERENCE MAILING
ONE TIME ONLY: PLATINUM (100); ELITE (50)
 
This is another NSR exclusive service which will set you apart from other prospects. ONCE during your high school career NSR will send a link to your video to college coaches. It is very important that you carefully decide when your DVD’s will be distributed. Choose schools on the level of those which have shown you interest. They are sending you a signal that theirs is the level you belong. And, you may miss out on a solid opening somewhere else if you waste sending a video to a coach who will cannot seriously consider you as a prospect.
 
Click on “My Form” tab in your portal. Select the Video Preference Mailing form, and choose the amount of schools depending on your contract (Platinum will need to print out 2 forms).   Mail, email or fax this form to NSR. You can check “My Tracker” to see when your list of schools was emailed.
 
  
STEP SEVEN: PERSONAL BROCHURE/DVD MAILING
ONE TIME ONLY: PLATINUM ONLY (20)
 
This one-time promotional effort directs NSR to send a hard copy of your DVD and four-page brochure to the 20 chosen colleges. 
 
Deciding on the college which will receive these packages is very important. The schools selected should be your 20 top choices. We also advise you to send an email to the coaches of those colleges letting them know that the package will shortly arrive in their office.
 
Click the “My Forms” tab in your portal. Select the Personal Brochure / DVD Form, fill it out and submit to NSR by mail, email or fax.

STEP EIGHT: COLLEGE APPLICATION & FINANCIAL AID
ONE TIME ONLY: ALL PROGRAMS
 
NSR will email up to 10 college admission offices of your choice, and ask them to send you information regarding financial aid, scholarships and an application.
 
Click on the “My Forms” tab in your portal. Select the College Application and Financial Aid form, mail, email or fax it to NSR.
 
You can check “My Tracker” to see when your list was mailed.
