APPROVING YOUR WEBSITE, RESUME & BROCHURE PROOF

Reviewing then approving your Website information, resume and brochure proof is your first priority

Step One: Reviewing and correcting your profile.   Click on View Summary of Personal Information. Go through each category and box in that category. Carefully check that the data entered is correct. If so, move to the next box. If not, go to Change at the top of the category. This will take you to a box which will allow you to make the needed changes. Then, click on Save and Continue

If all the data in the box is incorrect, highlight the data, hit the delete key, and then type in the correct info. When finished making all the necessary corrections, scroll to the bottom right hand side of the page and click on the Save and Continue button. This will automatically update your Website, resume and brochure proof.

Step Two: Verifying that your personal Website is correct. Click on View Personal Website. If you see any incorrect data, click on the Update My Info tab at the top of the page. Scroll down to the area which requires an adjustment. You can move back and forth between these two areas until you are satisfied that your Website is correct. NOTE: Making these changes will automatically adjust your Website, resume and brochure.

Step Three: Checking that your one page resume is correct. Click on View One Page Resume Web.   This step is to verify that the changes you made above were made to your one page resume. NOTE: This form is occasionally used by NSR when communicating with college coaches who request your specific information or DVDs. Again, if you notice any inaccuracies, you can click on the Update My Info tab at the top of the page, make the necessary changes, and then return to this page for verification.

Step Four: Approving (Finalizing) your proof.  It may all seem tedious, but we want to make sure that your initial information is correct. Once you have confidence that no other changes need to be made, go to the bottom of the page and click on Approve. Congratulations! You are now ready to proceed with the “NSR Process.”

UPDATE MY INFO

Updating your information is the place in your Portal where you should be frequently visiting. Keeping your data fresh and current is absolutely necessary if college coaches can be expected to properly evaluate and recruit you. Anytime something changes with your stats, grades, accomplishments, honors, general data (such as college major), contact info (address, phone, etc.), or when you decide to re-write your personal essay, this is the place you will do it.

If you are somewhat confused about this part of the Process, call your NSR scout or our home office to get advice, instructions or help. We are always glad to assist you in making your profile better.

MY RECRUITING ORGANIZER

Your Recruiting Organizer is where you will come at least once each week to record, keep track and review all of your recruiting activities. Even if a college contacts you which was not generated through NSR, keep a good record of the information. Getting in the habit of documenting everything from phone calls, emails, videos or brochures sent, and campus visits will save you untold time and worry later on.

One of the coolest features of this unique feature is that when NSR’s home office receives a request via Email from a college coach which matches you in terms of sport, position, graduation year and grades, that data will be automatically dropped into your Recruiting Organizer. With that information, you will be able to research colleges and coaches you may not have known about. When this happens, you can go online to analyze if the school fits your academic, athletic and geographic needs. If so, contact that coac h immediately by Email asking that he or she does and evaluation of you on your NSR Website and to let you know if any other information is needed. If you like the school well enough, ask the coach when you can come for an unofficial visi t to the campus to see the school, look at the facilities and meet the coach. This will help to open many more doors for you over time.

When the time comes to make your decision on which college to attend, the information you have documented will be invaluable in the final analysis.

MY TRACKER

This feature allows you to see the home office activity regarding when your updates/tapes arrived and logged into system. It also will report when your brochures, DVD’s and other materials have been sent to college coaches.

The Tracker will not, however, do this on an individual college basis. Instead, your Tracker will document when the group of brochures were released from the office. If you believe that too much time has elapsed, feel free to call your scout or our home office. We are here to help your Process go as smoothly as possible.

MY FORMS

From time to time, you may need to send information to NSR. This online Forms page gives you the ability to do this from anywhere, anytime.   Parents can access these forms from their offices or if they are on business trips or vacations. Simply click on the tab, select the form which you need and print it. You are ready to go.

Always be sure to fill out all NSR forms thoroughly. Read the directions carefully and take the time to make sure that all the information requested is correct and complete.

Of course, if you have any questions regarding how to fill out any of your forms, please contact your NSR scout or home office. We will be glad to assist you in any way we can.

MY WEBSITE

This is a shortcut to your NSR Website. We encourage you to visit your site often and to do so with a critical eye. Always think about how you can enhance the site with more information, data, pictures, awards and articles.

College coaches depend on the accuracy and clarity of you Website to give them the information they need to make an initial evaluation and then to keep track of you as the months and years go by.

Always refer coaches to your site and ask them to watch your skill footage. This is your one chance to be recruited. Make the most of it. Get ahead of your competition!

MY EMAIL

Most of the communications you will do with NSR, NSR scouts and, most importantly, college coaches will happen through your NSR Email address.   This is the Email address we will be posting on your brochure and resume, so coaches visiting your Website or receiving your brochure, if interested in you, will probably contact you here.

Be certain that you and your parents check it frequently. You will probably find that contact from coaches will happen in unpredictable streaks.   So, if not hearing from coaches for a week or two does not mean that one will not send you a message tomorrow or the next day. Only by checking your messages regularly can you respond promptly to coaches, or your NSR scout, when they reach out to you.

Also, near the beginning of each month, NSR will send you the monthly newsletter, The NSR Journal. This is an informational and educational piece which will:

  • Keep you informed about what is happening across the nation in college recruiting
  • Give you key recruiting dates throughout the year
  • Reinforce how you can best utilize the NSR Process
  • Give you helpful hints on how to stay in shape, eat well, get better test scores and other useful articles
