After attending Eastern Connecticut State University and Radford University as a starting pitcher, I was invited to a workout with Fortitudo Bologna, Italy, in the form of a tournament. I pitched a 7-inning no-hitter with 17 K’s and 3 walks. I was immediately offered a contract and signed with the team. I was converted to the closer role during my first season as the team had a veteran starting pitching staff and I never looked back. I played 13 years of professional baseball all with Fortitudo from 2001 to 2013. In that time, we won 3 Italian championships and 3 European championships. We also had the honor of being the first European team to be invited to the Asia Series in Taiwan in 2013. One year we were voted the best team in Europe. Throughout my career, I was voted to the All-Star team 3 times and named the Top Reliever of the League 3 times. I still hold the title of All-Time Saves Leader in Fortitudo baseball history and finished my career only 3 saves shy of the all-time saves leader in Italian baseball history. Between 2001-2007, I was honored to be chosen for the Italian National Team. Representing Italy, I competed in numerous tournaments around the world including the 2001 World Cup of Baseball in Taiwan, the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and the 2006 Inaugural World Baseball Classic. Since retiring at the end of the 2013 season, I moved to Chicago and started coaching and conducting private lessons throughout the Chicagoland area. I worked with kids of all ages with pitching and hitting. I also consulted and assisted teams with their team practices and game training and situations. I’ve had the pleasure of coaching for the Glenview Blaze, Diamond Dawgz, and Stoppers Baseball Academy travel programs. I recently moved to Colorado to start a new adventure and joined USA Prime Colorado, coaching their high school-level summer and fall teams. I also assisted as the pitching coach for Lutheran High School and on a volunteer basis with the Colorado Christian University as a pitching coach. I have two beautiful daughters that compete at an elite level in softball. My oldest received a full scholarship with the help of NSR. I'm blessed to enjoy life with my wife, two cats & a dog.
