About Area Director, Bryan Hill
Coach Hill is a former collegiate baseball coach and spent the last 15 years coaching in North Carolina and Tennessee. The Greenville, NC native grew up playing baseball all over the state and continued playing college ball in North Carolina at Chowan University in Murfreesboro. Hill has been on staff at NJCAA and NCAA division 2 schools during his coaching career in every roll from head coach to recruiting coordinator and strength and conditioning coach. For over the last decade he has been involved in summer collegiate baseball as a head coach and most recently in the front office as Director of Scouting and Player Development. Regardless of which role, Hill has been driven by changing lives through sports and is excited to continue that through National Scouting Report.

Matt Ellsworth enters his 1st year as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator in his second stint with Wake Technical Community College Baseball. Ellsworth was Wake Tech's first assistant coach in program history and after coaching stops with other programs has come full circle to land with the Eagles for the 2025-2026 season.In his first season back with Wake Tech he helped guide Wake Tech to the programs first ever 30 win season. The Eagles capped off their record setting regular season with their first Region 10 championship title in school history. Winning the region 10 title granted them a birth in the NJCAA DII Junior College World Series in Enid, Oklahoma. This years Wake Tech team saw 5 players honored with all region awards. Wake Tech finished the season ranked 22nd in the NJCAA Top 25 Coaches Poll. Prior to this year, Matt has had coaching stops at Barton College, William Peace University, had opportunities in the ACC, and had coaching stints with collegiate summer baseball teams local to Raleigh, NC. During his time coaching with NCAA institutions he was a part of two top 25 ranked teams. Most recently, Matt was the head coach of the Raleigh Red Oaks out of Raleigh, North Carolina. The Red Oaks are one of 24 teams in the Old North State League that historically finished in last place in their division and the league prior to Matt's tenure in the summer of 2025. Ellsworth guided the Red Oaks to the top of their division and birth in the ONSL Tournament as a #2 seed. In the summer of 2023, Matt was an assistant coach with the Clayton Clovers who finished the summer in the top 3 out of 24 teams and made an appearance in the Old North State League Championship Series in their first season in the league. Over his 16-year coaching career, Ellsworth has coached 10 players who've signed professional contracts, three of which reached the Major Leagues. He's coached 7 NJCAA all-region players, dozens of NCAA all conference selections, 7 NCAA All-Region performers, 2 NCAA All-Americans, two NCAA Gold Glove winners, and a six time Gatorade National Player of the week. Born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina, Matt attended New Bern High School were he lettered in Varsity Baseball 3 years as an infielder. He was a two time all conference performer, team MVP his senior year, and nominated for the NC State Games his Junior and Senior year.After high school, Matt attended North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC where he was a four-year letterman as a starting infielder. As a journeyman on the infield, he played all 4 positions in the dirt throughout his college career in a starting role. He finished his career with a .335 batting average, 12 HR, and 72 RBI. His most notable accomplishments were being honorable mention all-conference his sophomore and junior season. In his sophomore year he was top 20 in the county in BA through 30 games sitting at a hefty .523 clip. Ellsworth has been an invited instructor and speaker at camps and clinics including the nationally known George Whitfield Baseball Clinic, USA Baseball, Duke University, Appalachian State University, NC State University, East Carolina University, Elon University, Barton College, North Carolina Wesleyan College, Louisburg College, and many high schools and showcase academies across the state. He currently resides in Apex, NC with his wife Rebecca and their two kids. He enjoys spending time with his family, freshwater fishing, lifting weights, and he has been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for almost 10 years.
