Athleticism, grades, character and home… We believe our reputation is built on the quality of prospects we enroll and the number who receive scholarship offers. Over the last two years, NSRC prospects have an average 3.5 GPA and 1050 on their SAT scores, and over 90 percent have received offers to play sports in college. College coaches want players who have shown they can thrive academically while excelling at a sport. NSRC prospects meet those criteria.
A recent study found that only about five percent (5%) of high school athletes continue their athletic careers in college. Compare that against the fact that nine out of ten NSR prospects receive scholarship offers to play in college.

Exceptional service is the difference… Every parent wants to provide their child with the best advantage. Congratulations. You’ve found it. Our unique, proactive approach to recruiting means that Central and Western North Carolina NSR consistently delivers scholarship offers for our prospects – over 90 percent, in fact, have received offers, mostly from regional institutions. Compare that to this stark and chilling statistic: one in twenty high school players go on to play in college. It’s your choice: 90 percent or five percent. Which will it be? Sit back and wait, or get involved in a proven program that gets the job done.
Some of the special, beyond-the-call services Central and Western North Carolina NSR provide prospects include canvassing regional colleges to determine their specific needs; arranging unofficial visits; directing skill footage videotaping; providing ongoing advice about colleges, college visits, the recruiting process and scholarship offers.

Developing solid relationships with coaches… We are the only multi-sport scouting service in the Carolinas working directly with regional college coaches to help fill their recruiting needs. Because most NSRC prospects want to attend college within a few hours of home, one of our priorities is to develop solid and lasting relationships with regional coaches.
Each year our scouts visit regional college coaches in their offices. Moreover, we are in continual contact with them. We discuss their upcoming roster openings and then introduce them to NSR prospects who might match those needs. College coaches appreciate this extra effort. Our goal: to become
THE go-to source for prospects in the Carolinas.

Thinking outside the box… is one way we can give our prospects better exposure opportunities and simultaneously evaluate regional, top-notch student-athletes. Our reputation for aggressively pursuing openings for NSRC kids has inevitably drawn exceptional organizations our way. This is no accident.
That’s why we engage in tournaments and events that allow our kids to showcase their talents. From serving as the sole sponsor for the Great Eight Volleyball Tournament, co-sponsoring the Great Smoky Shootout Basketball Tournament, attracting college coaches to NSA College Showcase Tournaments (summer and fall) or serving as the educational arm for all Hoops & Dreams events, we take pains to make certain that we align ourselves with first class organizations and events.

We’re in this together… and it will take a collective effort, yours and ours, to accomplish the goal of getting your child the choices he or she deserves. While we will be doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work for you, the process is most effective when you participate.
Shortly after enrolling, you have seen a surprising difference – it’s called activity through the interest shown your child by coaches from regional and national colleges. A variety of college coaches have already responded and sent your questionnaires.
This is an exciting time and while you may have been apprehensive at first (Is my investment worth it?), you are now thrilled with your decision. Why? Because things are really happening as a result of enrolling your child with NSR. The fact is that our predictions are coming true – when college coaches get information on your child from a reliable, professional source, they respond. And, because we have a reputation for only representing solid, accomplished student-athletes, college coaches are jumping at the chance to know more.
As someone once said, “This is a marathon, not a sprint,” and that certainly applies to the recruiting process. The truth is this: most of the initial interest you are getting from coaches is a formality – the first step in a long process. Chances are that you are NOT being recruited by the schools. (Remember during our conversation in your home about the three ways to tell when you ARE being recruited.) These first letters are simply an acknowledgment that your child plays the sport. College coaches routinely send out hundreds of these letters and questionnaires each year, but only to the prospects they know about. If you had not enrolled your child, he or she probably would not be seeing this sort of interest. But, it’s a start.
What gives these letters substance is what you do with them. For now, the important thing is to respond quickly and to follow our other “must-do” things to make your recruiting opportunities grow.
