NSR - National Scouting Report

NSR scouts are on the field in Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida panhandle!

NSR prides itself on having scouts on the ground across the country and around the world, checking out our prospects firsthand and making sure they are the quality athletes that we are proud to represent. If you see a NSR Scout at your next event, be sure to ask them any questions you may have about college recruiting and how NSR can help secure the futures of young athletes.

You can also contact Robert & Susan Cagle, our Area Director, to schedule a scout visit to an event in order to evaluate an athlete by calling (251) 554-0211.

You only have one opportunity to get recruited. Why leave it to chance?

A football and baseball letterman at Clara High School, Michael was fortunate enough to continue his athletic career playing baseball at Jones Junior College. A wrist injury in his sophomore season ended his baseball career, but it did not dampen his love for the game.

Even during his college days, Michael began coaching summers in the local Dixie Youth Baseball league. He used his love for the game and his desire to influence young people's lives, to make the game both fun and a learning experience for his players. For the last 25 years, he has continued to get paid the dividends of the time he invested. On a regular basis many of his players, now grown men and women, see him in public and thank "Coach Michael" for both athletic teaching and life lessons learned during their time on the diamond.

Michael stayed involved in the game in a couple of other ways, as well. For a five year period in the early 1980's, he got involved in the world of women's fast-pitch softball. Working at the NCAA and NAIA levels, Michael became the most dreaded personality in the game, an umpire. He had the pleasure of working on the national level working for what was then the Big 8 conference while living in Oklahoma. He also had the distinguished honor of working international competition at the Goodwill games, the highest level of the game.

Without a doubt, Michael's proudest accomplishment sports wise, however, all revolve around his children. He coached each of them at different times in their lives. From Dixie baseball, to church basketball, to local soccer, to school sanctioned Pee Wee and Junior High football, Michael was there. Nothing has, nor ever will, bring him more pleasure in this life.

Coach Michael is, however, very excited to be a part of NSR. He uses the same love of the game he has to assist young athletes today in pursuing their dreams of continuing their athletic careers.
